1880 January 24 Ardrossan Rangers 1880 Football Club played its first reported match and sustained the worst defeat by any Ardrossan club to date when it lost by 10 goals to 0 against Saltcoats Melbourne.

1887   Ardrossan Ensign was very active, attracting visits from Glasgow teams including Clyde, Queen's Park and Rangers.

  September 25 The worst defeat by any Ardrossan club was sustained by Ardrossan Ensign when it lost by 12 goals to 1 against Ayr in the Ayrshire Cup beating the previous worst of 24 January 1880.
1888 May 16 Ardrossan Waverley played third reported match, other two being in 1879 and 1885.
  December 28 Ardrossan Ensign made a presentation to its captain, Alexander Allan, on the occasion of his forthcoming marriage.
  December 29 Ardrossan Swifts Football Club, the second eleven of Ardrossan Ensign, played first reported match beating Ensign 6-0.

1898 September 30 Ardrossan Seafield Athletic played its first - and last - reported match in the worst defeat to date by any Ardrossan club. The team lost by 12 goals to 0 against Troon Rangers in the Irvine and District Juvenile Cup.
