Winton Rovers had a decent team in the 1950s.


OUTING TO ARDROSSAN WITH EVENING SIGHTSEEING
On Saturday last (31 July 1954), two buses conveyed Bonnyridge Juniors Football team and their friends to Ardrossan where the Juniors were the guests of Winton Rovers.  A friendly game was played against a strong side from Winton Rovers and resulted in a one goal draw.  Afterwards, the party were entertained to tea in Craig’s Tearoom then spent the evening sightseeing.  The buses left for home abbot 8pm and the Toll was reached about ten o’clock.  The arrangements for the outing were made by Mr William Russell, club secretary and Mr Alexander Gilchrist, social secretary, to whom the company expressed their gratitude for such a lovely time.

ARDROSSAN WINTON ROVERS 1 – BONNYBRIDGE JUNIORS 1
Bonnybridge Juniors travelled to Ardrossan to meet Winton Rovers in a friendly game last Saturday last (31 July 1954).  A keen game resulted in a draw of one goal each.  The Rovers scored after ten minutes through Logan and they maintained their lead till seven minutes from the end when Holmes, the ex-Kilsyth Rangers forward equalised.  A Russell, the Juniors’ right-half, was injured early in the game.  The home keeper also retired through a head injury.  The game was fully enjoyed by the large crowd.
