Only one newspaper report on Ardrossan Football Club was found for 1876 with none for 1877 implying that the club had disbanded in 1876.

A spirited match came off on the home club's park, Glasgow Street, Ardrossan on Saturday last (8 April 1876) between the Ardrossan and Kilbirnie clubs resulting in favour of Ardrossan by two goals to nothing. For Ardrossan, Messrs Hogarth, McAuslane and Gillies played well.

The park in Glasgow Street was probably Clutha Park, a field between Glasgow Street and Paisley Street in what is now Young Street. Clutha Park is shown above.
