ARDROSSAN COOPERATIVE FOOTBALL CLUB 1920s
The dates of formation and demise of Ardrossan Cooperative Football Club are
unknown but it certainly existed in 1928. The following is an extract from the
minutes of Ardrossan Winton
Rovers Football Club on 3 April 1928. A letter was read form the secretary
of Ardrossan Cooperative Football Club requesting the use of Winton
Park for playing purposes and the use of the clubhouse for training. The
secretary was advised to reply that, owing to the field being closed as soon
as possible for improvements, the committee could not see their way to grant
permission. On 18 December
1928, the Winton minutes recorded that A letter was read from the Cooperative
Society Football Club requesting the use of Winton
Park for a game on Wednesday 19 December. It was agreed that owing to other
juvenile clubs having the use of the field, this application be refused.
